She attended the Monterey Academy of Hair Design where she received her Cosmetologist License in 1979. That same year she moved to New York City where she continued training in skin care.  In 1984, Deborah moved to the Truckee‑Tahoe region where she has worked at the area’s larger resorts and spas as a skin care specialist while also maintaining a private practice.
